Faculty Support Services (FSS) provides web space to instructors that need it for teaching or research purposes. However, it is your responsibility to request a space provided by FSS, and manage the transition of your web pages from CU People to your new web space, including:

If you have questions about using Faculty Support Services for your web pages, please email atc_support@cornell.edu.

Request a space for teaching or research web pages provided by Faculty Support Services (FSS):

  1. Go to the FSS IT Request Form at http://atcsupport.cit.cornell.edu/itrequest/itrequest.cfm.
  2. Fill in only the following fields with your information:
    Instructor’s Cornell NetID
    Instructor’s first name
    Instructor’s last name

    For Course ID, type faculty
    Leave the Semester and Year as is (Spring 2009)

  3. Click Continue.

  4. In the Please select a service… box, select Teaching and Research Web Space. The Continue button will appear.

  5. Click Continue.

  6. In the Request Confirmation box, read the copyright statement. If you agree to the terms, continue to the next step. If you do not have permission to use copyrighted material on your site, contact atc_support@cornell.edu for guidance about next steps.

  7. Click I agree to the above statement.

  8. Click Submit Request. You will see the Request Successfully Submitted screen, and you will receive an email confirmation for your Teaching and Research Web Space Request. Keep this email. It includes a Tracking number, which you can use to reference your request. Allow up to 2 weeks for your web space to be set up. When your web space is ready, you will receive additional confirmation emails telling you your new URL, username and password to access the space, and how to upload your files.

  9. Close the browser window.
