Builder's notes:

• Put some time and thought into the work table. It needs to be flat and level across the entire table. This may seem obvious, but leave room at both ends of the table to work in or passage from side to side.

• At this stage and later, Exacto™ tools work well, especially the fine-toothed saw blades. Much of the wood used is soft and easily worked. A small model sanding block is also a good investment.

• Sand the small rib stock before cutting and avoid having to handle the finished ribs excessively. As stated before, the wood is soft and easily damaged and the ribs, at about 3½ feet, are very flexible.

• Set the first rib made aside as the master pattern rib. Keep it even after the wings are built and the aircraft flying, should you ever have to repair a wing.
