After receiving a Ph.D. in animal behavior at the University of Minnesota, I joined the Macaulay Library, where I serve as a liaison to the K-12 educational community. The Macaulay Library is located at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, and contains the world's largest collection of animal sounds and associated video. My position was created under a grant from the National Science Digital Library to use animal behavior as a springboard to teach STEM disciplines such as physics. I work with educational partners such as the Center for Nanoscale Systems Institute for Physics Teachers, and the Wayne-Finger Lakes Board of Cooperative Educational Services to develop new curricula and infuse rich media into existing curricula.
