Welcome to Cayugabirds-L!

Cayugabirds-L is an email list focused on, but not limited exclusively to, birds and birding in the Finger Lakes Region with a  focus on the Cayuga Lake Basin. The primary purpose of the list is to disseminate information about bird sightings in and around the Finger Lakes Region and the Cayuga Lake Basin in a timely manner. Questions and limited discussions on topics such as bird behavior, identification, conservation, and distribution, especially as these subjects relate to birds in the Finger Lakes Region and the Cayuga Lake Basin, are welcomed and encouraged.

This list was created in an effort to help spread information about wild birds in our area in a wide, timely manner, and to provide an effective electronic forum for birders in the Ithaca and Finger Lakes Region of Upstate New York.

***PLEASE NOTE***: Ultimately, the determination of what is appropriate to discuss on the list, and when a discussion should be ended, will be made by the listowner.  In addition, the listowner of Cayugabirds-L has the right to remove subscribers from Cayugabirds-L if the listowner deems it appropriate.  Except in extreme cases, removal from the list will not take place without giving the subscriber a warning.
