ODI batting performances ODI bowling performances Most of the factors used to calculate the Test ratings have been used again this time, with some subtle tweaks and additions to reflect the different nature of the one-day game. Speed of scoring in batting and accuracy in bowling suddenly becomes much more crucial. And in one-day internationals some matches are much more important than others, which isn’t often the case in Tests. Performances in the later stages of the World Cup have been given more points than similar scores in qualifying rounds, or less important competitions. Despite that the top performance in the batting table doesn’t come from the World Cup. It’s Viv Richards from 1984 – Viv at his masterful blasterful best – and that searing 189* against England at Old Trafford, which dragged West Indies from the depths of 102 for 7 to the luxury of 272 for 9. In the bowling list, top spot goes to Australian Andy Bichel, whose 7 for 20 decimated England in the qualifying stages of the last World Cup in 2003. Top ten ODI batting performances
