Mercury Contamination:
Science-based Decision Making about Fish Consumption

In conjunction with a study of mercury accumulation in fish within Adirondack lakes, for my graduate research I am leading an effort to determine what type of information will be most useful to the anglers and families catching and potentially consuming sport fish caught from Adirondack waters.

People making decisions about fish consumption often face contradictory or confusing information regarding sources of mercury and whether to be concerned about potential health impacts due to mercury exposure. We want to ensure that available information about mercury in fish from Adirondack waters is both accessible and helpful for making informed decisions about fish consumption.
