Conservation and Limited Development Projects

About this site

This site is intended as a resource for land trusts, developers, public officials, landowners, and others interested in conducting, facilitating, or encouraging conservation and limited development projects (CLDPs). The site is based on the research I conducted on CLDPs in 2004 for my Master’s thesis at Cornell University. My hope is that this information will contribute to the more effective use of CLDPs as a conservation strategy, and that it will help project proponents and outside observers use an objective, scientifically-based approach to evaluating such projects.

Although the information presented on this site has been carefully researched, it is general in nature and should not be construed as providing advice on specific projects. If you would like advice on a CLDP you are planning, considering, or reviewing, I invite you to contact me to discuss your situation.
