I am an Associate Professor in the Sage School of Philosophy at Cornell University. Until 2007, I was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Philosophy at Princeton University. Before that, I did my Ph.D. at the University of Michigan. And in there somewhere I also spent some time playing with these sorts of things as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Research School of the Social Sciences at the Australian National University.

My primary research interests are in metaphysics and philosophy of mind–– see the material below if you're interested in more detail.

But obviously I didn't have to be a philosopher. I could have made a different career choice. Perhaps you'd like to catch a rare and privileged glimpse into a different possible world?*

*No, no, that isn't really me! I was a little too young in 1979.
