The aim of this course is to develop skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing within Sweden's cultural context. Students will participate in group and individual work and analyze and create texts in Swedish. A Virtual text book and interactive computer programs are used in this course. The course will follow the recommended levels of proficiency by the Council of Europe. Self-assessment is encouraged.

This course is a continuation of Swedish 121 and designed to teach basic understanding of the Swedish language, culture and history with a focus on reading comprehension, grammar and conversation. Emphasis will be on students' participation in conversations, discussions, question formulations and some independent reading. The course will follow the recommended levels of proficiency by the Council of Europe.

Emphasis on improving oral and written expressions, including vocabulary, reading contemporary prose and media/technology at an intermediate and advanced level, treating specific problems in grammar, and viewing of videos and films to increase students' knowledge of the language and understanding of cultural and social aspects in Sweden. The course will follow the recommended levels of proficiency by the Council of Europe.
