Attendance Policy

The 12 regular classes add to 18 hours of instruction.

For Credit: If you are taking the course for credit, you may miss one class, so you must take eleven classes to receive a grade of "pass" and avoid paying the PE department penalty fee.

Not For Credit: If you are not taking the course for credit, you may miss 3 classes, so you must attend 9 classes to avoid paying the PE department penalty fee.

This is policy of the Physical Education Department. Medical, religious, or other excuses do not entitle you to additional absences. Any additional absences must be made up to avoid penalty.

Both at the beginning and again at the end of each class, attendance sheets will be placed on the table by the sound system. You must initial the space by your name to get credit for attendance. If you arrive late or leave early, that counts as missing half of a class. Your total absences will appear on the attendance sheet.  If in doubt, e-mail Marguerite for your total.
