In September 2005, we began to develop a science communication course for graduate students in the Biogeochemistry and Environmental Biocomplexity program at Cornell University.  The course ran from January to May 2007. 

The goal of the course was to improve our ability to discuss our research with the general public and professionals writing and reporting on science in the media. We used guest lectures, field trips, and individual student projects to develop these skills.
