Happy Halloween - 10/31/06.  Below are the pumpkins we carved.  Mine is the lame looking one on the left.  The creative one on the right is Kat's.

Here's a pic of us taken in one of the dressing rooms backstage at the Landmark Theater when we did the Ghosthunt on Saturday 10/28.  The pic was taken by our friends Bob & Sandra who went with us.  (Note, we did not find any ghosts.)  The coolest part about the whole thing was they let everyone loose to just wander around the theater anywhere we wanted to.  Backstage & the dressing rooms were really small & not exactly very swanky - makes you wonder how rock stars feel about using them.  It was very cool being onstage.  Funny thing is, the stage really isn't all that big once you're up there.  We wandered around the basement & found some fairly sketchy spots.  Whatever money has gone into refurbishing the theater itself, doesn't appear to have been spent on any of the behind-the-scenes areas.  The event itself was sponsored by the group Central New York Ghosthunters and Paranormal Research.  They seemed like nice enough people, but the "evidence" they had on display of pictures, sounds & movies of their findings didn't overly impress me.  I'm not a complete cynic & I am of the opinion that there are a lot of unexplained things in this world, but just the same, I wasn't buying it.  All in all, it was a great night.  Got to look through Soundgarden early in the evening & then met Bob & Sandra at the Blue Tusk for dinner.

Got tickets to see the Black Crowes again at the Main Street Armory in Rochester, NY on Friday 11/3.  Again, going with our friends Bob & Sandra.  I have no doubt that it will be yet another kick-ass show.

We're going to the 2nd Annual Ghost Hunt at the Landmark Theater in Syracuse, NY on Saturday 10/28 with our friends Bob & Sandra.  Should be really cool.  Bob & Sandra went last year & said that you get the opportunity to see all the "behind-the-scenes" type of stuff in the theater - like backstage, dressing rooms, & other stuff you don't normally get access to.  We're really looking forward to it.

Just recently started using Netflix.  Their customer services & turnaound so far is pretty impressive.  The DVDs come from a location based out of Rochester, NY.  They send me a movie, we watch it & send it back.  Within two days' time, I receive an email confirming the receipt of the movie I've returned, get another email confirming that what's on deck in my queue will be sent out posthaste, & another one comes in the mail.  I get two movies at a time & no limit to how many I can go through in a month's time for $14.99.  So far, I'm really digging this & am wondering why I didn't use it before.

I was fortunate enough to be asked to write something about the new Chemystry Set album, "Cobblestone Below My Feet ...and other tales of devils and onions," coming out in November 2006.  Check it out.

You never know what you're going to find when you do random word searches.  For example, found the two pics below from a Google search (note: for some reason using the term "Google" as a verb really bugs me...) on "North Syracuse."  The pic on the left is a current aerial view of what the North Syracuse Junior High School looks like & the one on the right is a current aerial view of what the Cicero-North Syracuse High School looks like.  For my freshman & sophomore years of high school, I attended what you used to be referred to simply as the North Syracuse High School for grades 9 - 12 (the one on the left) & then we were "re-districted."  The result of this meant I had to spend my junior & senior years of high school at what came to be known as the Cicero-North Syracuse High School, for grades 10 - 12.  Can't say as I was ever all that keen on having to have done this, but it's not like I really had any choice.  In any case, I spent a combined total of four years between these two buildings.
