Stephen J. Sauer

Management and Organizations

 

 

Stephen Sauer is currently a 5th-year PhD candidate in the Management & Organizations department at Cornell University’s Johnson School of Management. 

 

His research activities focus on issues of status and influence in hierarchical teams, interdisciplinary team processes, diversity in organizations, and social decision making. 

 

Stephen teaches courses in Managing and Leading Organizations and Negotiations at the Johnson School of Management. He teaches at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and has conducted a number of executive education and leadership effectiveness workshops and seminars. 

 

Stephen obtained a B.S. in Aeronautical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York and an M.B.A. with a concentration in Organizational Behavior from Cornell University.

 

Prior to joining the PhD program, Stephen worked as an organizational change consultant with IBM Global Services. He has also worked as a plant manager and he served as an armored cavalry officer in the US Army for seven years.
